Mountain Rescue Roundtable

Miscellaneous

About the Course

An interactive session designed to engage attendees and pool collective knowledge on common challenges and functions of SAR teams. The format will be asking participants, how does your team handle (fill in the blank). Participants will break into small groups for in-person roundtable discussions while also capturing their insights via digital tools like Google Forms and QR codes.

We will generate a list of key topics—categorized into areas such as recruiting, mission software, PSAR, peer support, member recognition, funding, training/standards, etc. We will come up with more topics, those are just a few that come to mind. This approach will allow us to capture how different teams tackle these challenges. The compiled results will be shared with attendees of that session via email, and could be shared at the end of the conference as well.

This session will provide valuable takeaways for SAR teams but also gives participants an opportunity to “show off” innovative solutions their teams have developed.

Learning Objectives:
• Identify common challenges in SAR operations, training, and team management.
• Exchange diverse solutions and best practices from teams across different regions.
• Foster collaboration and networking among SAR professionals.
• Compile a shared resource of strategies to enhance SAR effectiveness.
