This class will explore the importance of compassion, belonging and tolerance in building a resilient, empathetic and effective SAR team. This course offers an introduction to key aspects of encouraging and supporting diversity in SAR team membership and promoting equity in day to day team management. It will also examine how the creation of a positive sense of belonging and acceptance can help to retain more team members for the long term. The course also addresses how to apply these ideas to improve how SAR teams can best serve search subjects and their families.
