The California National Guard provides air support for a large number of Search and Rescue operations, especially in the more mountainous regions of the state. Students will be orientated on the UH-60 Medivac Blackhawk and its capabilities. Students will then practice Loading, Unloading and Litter Loading with the Helicopter shutdown. The helicopter will then be spun up and student will practice the same skills in the actual Rotor Wash and noise. Students will then experience being inserted into a remote LZ where a full landing is not possible. The Blackhawk will do a Pinocle or Two-wheel insertion with students exiting the aircraft while it is in a partial hover.
